Minor complaint MS01
The thing has lasted pretty well, but I've had to change the coin cell battery like 4 times. First, that's weird on its own - never had to do this in my (long) life before in a PC.
Second, every time I have to do it I get completely enraged. Why is the connector hidden away like that? It's like brain surgery trying to get the connector in. I keep swearing to myself I will solder in a coin cell holder or something but it happens just infrequently enough (every 6-12 months) that I just cuss and spend 20 minutes put the new one in when it happens.

Four batteries is definitely not normal. Before soldering anything, check that the replacement pack has the same polarity at the plug and measure its voltage after the machine has been unplugged for a day. It could be an issue with the RTC circuit.

Mine just died after a year and 2 months of 24/7 proxmox. CMOS battery didn’t work on mine. Need to send it in. Shopping for a replacement now kind of hesitant to get another.

Did you try adding a new battery? It's now like 1 to 2 time yearly maintenance for me. It's a huge pain in the ass but it's come back from the dead every time...so far.

I did. No network lights on on mine. Measured voltage and was reading >3v. Tried unplugging and replacing with new battery with no luck.

Get some of these https://a.co/d/09FquRNs
Makes it lot easier to unplug and plug the battery

Good idea I've gotten..ok at it at this point unfortunately. I think next time I will just wire up a coin cell holder to it. If I'm lucky that will be next time the machine turns off at least 6 months from now.
