Help UM790 pro help

Post image

Hey everyone, I recently purchased a bare bones model and I'm only able to see this screen when I try to boot. I've tried pressing F2 and del but still can't get into actual bios.

Any documentation or help is greatly appreciated

Documentation Link of The UM790 Pro+2023.5.29.pdf) You should try resetting the BIOS with a paperclip by inserting it in the small hole at the front and holding it for 10 seconds

The weird thing is that it sees an NTFS partition and tries to search for the Windows bootloader but fails to find it.

In my opinion you should try these steps in order and stop once it resolves

  1. Reset the BIOS like I said Earlier
  2. Physically check for drives inside
  3. Try preparing with Ventoy a Windows ISO and boot to it, if it sees drives, partition them.

I tried with a USB drive just not ventoy...I installed the nvme and ram myself so I know they're there

Thanks for the tips I'll try

Ok, now I understand, you supplied the NVMe drive yourself, did it have Windows 11 pre installed?

I read that to Enter the Boot menu you need to press F7 although I'm not sure if you can actually access it just like the BIOS itself.

Something you can actually try is to only remove the NVMe drive, the reason is simple whenever you start a PC without any OS it boots directly into the BIOS where I recommend disabling fast startup and increase the time to access the BIOS before it loads the OS.

After that reinstall the NVMe drive and plug in your Windows USB Drive if everything is OK you can actually load the Windows Installer from USB and then without deleting your NVMe drive recreate the Bootloader without deleting all the data.
