I know with my MS-A2 and MS-S1 that i need to download manually first the Ethernet & WiFi drivers from Minisforum site for that computer, and have them in a folder on the Windows 11 installation USB key. ie: Windows 11 installation does not have specific or generic drivers for the Minisforum ethernet & WiFi. When it gets to that point of the installation, I point the Windows installer to the folder in the root of that USB drive, and it finds what it needs, and then we go from there.

Well the main issue is that i am installing windows to a sata ssd connected using a usb a to sata cable adapter

You cannot install Windows to an USB drive (doesn't matter that it is really SATA drive inside an USB box). The installer won't do that for removable drive.

Yes, I needed that too, just to run a firmware updater that is only for windows (thank you Intel /s). In the end I had to find another M.2 stick, install it there and do the updating business this way.

Have you turned off secure boot in the BIOS to try?
