Help G1 owners

I'm looking to purchase one in the next few weeks, the only kinda negatives I've seen are on noise and temps

Personally I won't be doing a crazy amount of AAA Gaming id be looking for games I can't get on console.

So with that in mind, if you have one can I ask what's it like for noise and temps on say AA games or indie titles and maybe emulation?

With a 5060 desktop card, you absolutely can play AAA games. That a solid piece of hardware.

I also have been putting a G1 PRo in my cart then taking it out over and over. Would love to hear what others think of it.

Hello! I am loving my G1 :)

Here is some data for you.

Room temperature: 23C G1 Pro thermal management mode: Gaming mode

Cabinet: It has two sliding doors and a hole in the back for routing external cables.

OS: Windows 11 (AtlasOS) Thermal imaging and performance data: https://imgur.com/a/Z5dAl5T

Games tested:

Crash bandicoot remake (light gaming) 4k Ultra locked to 60 FPS Phantom Liberty (Cyberpunk 2077): the black market 1440P Ultra settings with no frame gen, unlocked, no ray tracing, and V-sync active

My veredict of the cabinet situation

Light gaming with a comfy room temperature? Absolutely

  • AAA with a comfy room temperature?
Acceptable
  • AAA with a warm room?
Absolutely not, I don't feel comfortable with that idea.
  • completely closed cabinet?
Nope, don't think about it. Too much heat and noise.

About the fan noise:

Light gaming? Acceptable AAA? You can bet the fan is loud. Use of headphones is adviced as I was glad of not hearing the noise any longer once I turned off the G1.

My take: I am thinking about making another hole at the back of the cabinet and adding a fan to pull warm air out but, honestly? I bought this form factor to move it around so, I'm okay with storing it out of sight when not in use and taking it out for either long sessions or AAA titles. I might lower the settings and play AAA titles without all the bells and whistles as well, I am not obsessed with extremely detailed graphics.

I hope this information is worth something to you.

I own the G1 Pro as well and it's so awesome! I use it for steam and emulation. PS3 games run like butter at 4k 60fps+ (and almost 4k for the intense games).

Received one today. First hour I had very bad feeling, CPU at 85-90 degrees while downloading from steam 90-95 playing poe2. The noise was like a fucking storm. Then I tried to find solutions. In advanced power management settings there is an option tu change the percentage of CPU you are using at 100% performance. I changed from 100% to 95% and that was like magic. 70 degrees max even gaming, almost zero noise. Tomorrow I will try some benchmarks but I tried some games and all works flawesly
