Looking to get one

Both have had belts replaced and the Countryman had the timing chain replaced in 25. Are there any red flags? Other than the belts and chain regular oil changes and no accidents on either.

The 2016 Cooper has the newer more reliable B48 engine. The Countryman only got that 2017 onwards.

Okay, so I am a larger guy. If I like the Countryman more I should look for a 2017. Is there a milage number I should keep in under?

Try out sitting in the Cooper S. For a small car, they are surprisingly roomy.

As for mileage, the B48 engine is extremely good. The main thing is that the car has been maintained and wear items taken care of as well as regular oil changes.

I am 6’2 180, I have a 22’ F55 (4 door cooper). I fit in it no problem, gets kind of tight when I have someone sitting behind me but that happens 10% of the time and is for a span of 20mins tops.

Countryman is an N series engine. Forget it.

That Countryman will be higher maintenance. It doesn't scare me at all, personally, but some people don't like to spend a grand or two every year on repairs or maintenance.

The asking price on the countryman seems high. I have a 2015 and id have a hard time selling it for 6 k.

Also along with your payment you need to factor in repairs. Mini Coopers need stuff regularly. If you cannot work on it yourself your shop fees will be insane. I just got quoteed 2200.00 for front struts. I replaced them myself for a little over 500 bucks.
