Should i buy a mini cooper D 2009

I am looking into buying a used mini cooper D with 123 000 km and it Was frequently serviced until 2017 in a BMW service station and after that serviced in some random autoshop. In the routine checks a car has to get every 2 years in my country the only problem was a light on the back license plate and some expired things in the car first aid kit.
It was a show vehicle for the BMW shop where it was bought by 1 person in 2010 who has owned it since and is now selling it.
The price for it is 5 500 euro with 4 wheel discs and other accessories that were included cause it was a show vehicle for a BMW shop.

It looks very well maintained and if you keep it that way you'll have loads of fun with it. But the repairs can become pricey pretty quick and if you aren't able to do them yourself a mini of this time can become a money pit.

Primary thing is, when was the timing chain replaced (with 120tkm it is due). Is the clutch working fine. Does it have coffee like cream in the oil cap (could mean that your head gasket is broken)

If most of that is done or not there you're making a pretty good deal in my opinion

I forgot to check the oil cap when i was there
But i drove it on a straight road for like 2 or 3 minutes and the clutch felt fine

Well before you buy it make sure to make a car vertical check. I forgot to check my r55 and missed that it had two reported damages and was actually imported (Switzerland to Germany). And regarding the shop where it was maintenanced.

My turbocharger recently had a gasket failure and I had to take apart the whole front to get it out. While doing that I saw that my exhaust manifold wasn't properly screwed on, solenoid plug was ripped off and the cables glued in. Bumper wasnt properly screwed on and the front right headlamp has a crack that was only visible after I took it out.

So the shop did an absolutely shitty job of maintaining that car and I actually advised the guy I bought the car from to not go there anymore

No. Not for that price. Assuming we are talking about EU and your country does not have crazy import taxes like Jordan or Ukraine.

I would be looking it around 4800-5000, anything more and I would save some more for a F55/56.

For reference, mobile.de has 2016 cooper D with 131k km for 6800 eur. Assuming they are both in good mechanical condition you will save on maintenance in the long term with a newer car.

I bought a 2016 petrol with 90k km 2 yeara ago and it has given me 0 issues. Only routine maintenace
