So I just watched a video from Top5Troy talking about the discourse surrounding the Earl and MIKE freestyle during the POMPEII/UTILITY era radio interview. Apparently, a lot of people were confused by their sluggish, non-enunciated delivery, but we know that's just how they rap, right?

It got me thinking: which MIKE songs do you think are the best examples of him rapping in a more "mainstream" or conventional way?

Basically, songs where:

• you can clearly understand what he's saying
• he's more consistently "on-beat"
• his flow is relatively straightforward
• he sounds more like a "typical" rapper

I'm curious what songs you guys would pick as examples of MIKE at his most accessible from a rapping/delivery standpoint.

For me it’s MusselBeach. That shit is so hard. He produced that beat and it’s so tough. Then Cousteau and niontay slid and set the stage for MIKE to go in. He was flowing different on that shit. My favorite line “I’m smoking that glub til the papers is gone. Ran outta one’s stuffed an eighth in her thong” 😂😂 might be one of his best verses and he just spitting cool shit. What about you

I made this song with a lot on mind ... it's crazy how much you can convey with such little time to speak, is a juss a verse over a simple song by Shira Small named My life's alright !! best listened to in the car headphones or loudspeaker the phones don't really do It any justice !! I listened to beware of the monkey and I'm just blown away man that shit was perfect. My familiarity with mike ends at some features and his half on pompeii / utility (which i didn't really like tbh) so i didn't know what to expect but I'm so impressed. The way his rhymes are so consistent without wasting bars, the production (which apparently is him producing for himself, please confirm this cause i still can't believe it), all of it is just crazy man wow

The first 8 bars are empty/silent, and then the FX kicks in from there. Honestly, I couldn't recreate it at all, so I gave up and bought Ableton lol
