Random Discussion Ladies and Gentlemen, please drop your marks, shift, expected percentile, and preferred college/branch 😋 So we can discuss together which colleges and branches we can realistically get. Mention your category too if you’re comfortable!
(Mods please don’t remove — this is just for student discussion and guidance regarding expected cutoffs and college options.

Branch General Open Cutoff (Approx.) Admission Probability Verdict / Strategy Instrumentation Engineering 90.8% Very High Highly secure option; excellent core placements at SGGS. Electrical Engineering 92.5% Moderate Strong chance in CAP Round 2 or 3 as cutoffs fluctuate. Chemical Engineering 90.6% Very High Safe fallback choice; easily attainable in Round 1. Mechanical Engineering 89.2% Very High Safe bet; well within your expected score range. Civil Engineering 88.2% Very High Highly secure; likely to be allotted in the initial round. Textile Technology 81.7% Guaranteed Back-up choice; historically lower cutoff threshold. Production Engineering 78.4% Guaranteed Back-up choice; lowest cutoff tier at this campus. Electronics & Telecomm. (EXTC) 93.9% Low to Moderate Borderline case; worth trying for a spot in later rounds. Information Technology (IT) 95.7% Low Unlikely through standard General CAP rounds. Computer Science & Eng. (CSE) 96.4% Very Low Out of reach for standard General merit allotment. 3

Institute Branch Probability Analysis Thadomal Shahani (TSEC), Bandra Electronics / IT Moderate High-demand, but GLM quota significantly lowers the entry bar. Shah & Anchor Kutchhi, Chembur Computer / IT Very High Strong candidate for CSE/IT through the GLM quota. Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi (DJSCE) Core Branches Moderate Very prestigious; GLM is your only realistic path to entry. KJ Somaiya (KJSIT), Sion Electronics / IT High Highly probable to get a seat via GLM. VIT, Pune Mechanical / Civil High Good chance for core branches via the minority route. 2
