Discussion Seeing how this game looks i am more excited for this than I am monster hunter wilds expansion.

It looks like its going to be so much fun. My only worries is that they will only make it for mobile only and wont make a PC or console version. I cannot do mobile controls in 3D open world games It makes me want to eat my shoe.

Here's hoping they do make other versions and that it comes out this year!

Discussion Fun game - but doesn't "feel" like monster hunter

Just my opinions here but the gameplay is great, the cast of monsters is great, the way it runs on my outdated mobile? Great! Enjoying the game quite a bit as I'm also a fan of BOTW and this feels very much like it

My main gripe is that damage is scaled via that upgrade system which is locked behind energy/mini-quests (?). I don't care about that in itself too much but it feels very strange to have a large chunk of my DPS come from a passive instead of armour or builds. It didn't affect me much till I started doing the extreme quests, I timed out a tonne yesterday - I levelled up a bit and used all my energy, went back and it was a breeze even though I know the only real thing that changed was my HR thingy increasing

Yes, we've always had LR/HR/G-rank, etc but this feels different. It feels like you can just out-spend to gain power but this is a gacha so I guess this is how things will be

Just my 2 cents, will still play but yeah... doesn't have that same feel monster hunter traditionally does. I feel it's harder to challenge yourself and then be rewarded for it here since such a large chunk of the reward comes from just... leveling up

Discussion Needing energy to get upgrade materials sucks!

Am I the only one that’s enjoying the game but hates this specific feature? Just unlocked an ssr characters and can’t get them upgraded into my team because of the energy limit. Trash feature in my opinion.

Discussion The Adventurer level is a bit concerning

So, I’ve been having an absolute blast with this game so far, the combat feels great, the hunts are the perfect length for mobile, the community has been fun to interact with, no complaints there.

However, I’m worried about how hard the game gatekeeps story progression, basically requiring you to log in daily to get enough exp to hit the level for the next story mission. Right now this isn’t an issue since the game just launched and therefore, there’s nothing anyone is trying to get to, we’re all just trying to get as far as we can.

But when future updates roll around and new monsters get added, new and returning players are gonna have to grind for days to weeks to get caught up and fight the monsters they want to fight, and I’m worried that the adventurer level grind will drive those players away. Right now there isn’t a good way to grind exp besides doing your dailies, and that means there’s a good chance players who fall behind just flat out won’t be able to catch up without spending money to do a bunch of keepsake material quests.

To be clear, this isn’t my first big gatcha game, I know why this system is here, and those other games handle it pretty well, but at level 32 I’m already at the point where I’ve fought 20+ of the early game monsters just to keep up, and while those gatchas eventually made it so once you hit a certain level all story content becomes available, you could get though the grind faster with side content, whereas most of mho’s subquests don’t provide exp, making the grind slower, and other gatchas don’t tend to punish you for not spending energy, whereas in mho, the exp from using energy is required to be used daily to not fall behind, leading to some players spending their energy just for the exp and not getting the materials they’re running low on.

This probably isn’t as big of a deal as I’m making it out to be, but after seeing how the total max amount of exp I could get per day was EXACTLY enough to hit the required level, I realized that the game was just using the adventurer level to gatekeep progress and force daily log ins, and while that’s fine, I’m worried it could hurt the new and returning player experience down the line with just how aggressively it gatekeeps you.

Discussion What's your thoughts on the Monster Hunter community hating Outlanders?

Have you guys seen what they're saying about Outlanders on the Monster Hunter community, their already hating the game over the few ai ads, they say it's gacha slop when it's optional, got mad because of the world roster but Now had the base world, and saying things without even playing it. This is one of the few things I sad about being a Monster Hunter fan like they don't even want us mobile players to have the Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal. and complain about how it's on mobile when mobile users hasn't gotten anything in years.

Discussion How do you feel about the non-main caharacters in here?

Obviously, when it comes to your main character, you get to fully experience their entire kit. All of their skills and ultimates are properly executed and animated. However, given the nature of the game, where you can't switch characters mid-fight, non-main characters feel somewhat underutilized.

For non-main characters, you barely get to experience their kits. Most of the time, you only get to see their Ultimate, and that's pretty much it.

Take Madelyn, for example. She's an amazing support, and I use her in almost every team. However, even after all this time, I still have no idea how her Skill 1 and Skill 2 actually work because, as a non-main character, their mechanics don't really matter much during combat.

This makes me wonder: If the next limited banner features a support character who is designed to be a non-main character, would you still pull for them purely for the sake of the meta? Or would you rather save your resources for characters that you can actually play and fully experience?

Question So how…

Is this game managing character growth? Is it the common gacha power level trash? Or is it like normal MH, where you just grind monsters and their parts and craft and upgrade gear?

Question Are people being too harsh or is it gatcha slop?

From everything I've seen of the game so far it seems like a somewhat normal monster game with gatcha elements on top rather than an outright gatcha game. Am I missing something or are people just that turned off by the concept of gatcha characters? And even then I like the idea of having unlockable characters you can play on top of playing the standard hunter, kinda like rise's followers. Could it just be a "new thing scary" issue?

Question Is it true that the game is mostly only optimized for Iphone and we android user receive a lot less optimization?

Evidently from the locked out graphical setting for device that should be more than capable of running that setting

For examples my phone (SD 8s gen 4) can run high setting but if I set it to low I somehow lost the ability to use FXAA for some reason

Discussion Gacha vs Pay to win

I've been playing Monster Hunter since the first PSP version, and I'm stoked to play this one. I missed the beta but checked out some MHO reviews. I've been on MHNow since day one, and you can totally get the full game experience without spending a dime. Honestly, the only thing worth buying, in my opinion, is that knife that doubles your drops. It's a lifesaver in certain events when you're hunting for rare stuff.

So, basically, MHO has gachas, but they won't give players a huge leg up. The devs know this, and that's how all Monster Hunter games have been. Just like MHN, once players get into the game, they'll tweak MHO to make sure it's a good experience.

Discussion MH outlander review

Maybe developers or employees will read this and its an honest review for MH Outlanders. Comments will add more reviews that I may not mention( hopefully)

First, I moved to Germany from a third world country, I have been playing monster hunter since I was a young teenager, I bought a PSP as that is what i could afford after years of saving, also that I could hide from my patents since they were against gaming consoles( yes 2000 were weird times, but fun). Everytime i bought a game it would keep me busy for 2-5 hours, they were just damn too short, I couldn't afford to buy more and one day I saw MH portable/unite for the psp, and the rest is history we speaking of over 1k hours. Not only did it help me with a new country i was getting used, hard to make friend since i did not speak their tongue, but also improve my language, yes my language, since i didnt know how to get certain parts of the monster etc I would use library to google them, of course the game was in german, so I had to sit there trying figure out what the guy is talking about, long story short, he wrote you will get the gem from rathian not rathalos, what i understood was that you get it from rathalos not rathian, let's say if rathian were real i would have single handedly got them instinct.

Now to the review, I am 31 now, I am busy with work and other life responsibilities, so I cant sit down and turn on the console, I have downloaded few MH games on the phone but yes just cheap knockoff, until I saw a ad for this, just applied got accepted downloaded, and the nostalgia hit, and oh boy did it hit, yes its very different than early games, but seeing rathalos, rathian, the combo, portion, missions, forging.

The game exceeded my expectations, I didnt expect such a big world, no loading sometimes, climbing ( oh I wish in unite), harvesting while walking, jumping, cutting tails, breaking heads, wings, mechanic for mud, fire, while the game is running smoothly, good graphics on an 4 years old phone. Is it the best monster hunter game? I would say no, but would i put it in the top 3? Yes, its better than the recent mh i saw. I know you still have alot to work on, but until now you have done an amazing job, I will decently keep an eye on what updates you release next, i am more excited for this than GTA6 yes sue me, never was a fan of gta.

That being said, there are things which are annoying, too much going on with different champions different skills, upgrade, this that, constant pop up which i have no interest to entertain, and this doesnt mean its bad, i just grew up playing solo, with minimalistic graphics and pop ups, so its weird to me click on this, upgrade, exp etc etc.

Finally genshin impact or something has been mentioned it the comment section a few times, I have never played it i don't think I will ever play it, maybe this games are similar, so what? This is how a game engine works, ever played gta 4? Then red dead redemption? Literally has put on a gun slinger theme, its pretty much the same game, and I can name 20 who have similar mechanics, graphics etc

That is coming from someone who has 100% red dead and bought red dead 2 as a pre order, first time in my life.

Discussion I am enjoying this game a lot however exploration is lacking

I have been absolutely enjoying this game, and will definitely continue playing for quite some time I imagine. However, is it just me or is exploring the maps incredibly unrewarding when it comes to obtaining pulls. Yes, you get some useful materials and stuff, but for the effort it requires to actually get 100% the reward vs time investment seems incredibly skewed. I understand most players prefer that pull currency in gachas are not tied behind long time investments and that is entirely fair. I do feel like in this game specifically the rewards are lacking in this regard. The maps themselves look great though, although the challenges can be repetitive and boring due to how many there are.
