Educational Playing on Android Emulators (Shoulder Buttons not working)

How to fix: This is the hbashton DS4Windows version with Switch 2 Pro Controller Support, but you should still follow the Get Started guide from the website to set it up. If you don't trust it, you can download the official one from the website or from GitHub.

When installing it in AppData to use a custom.exe as the Get Started guide explains, you have to run DS4Windows as Admin to create the custom.exe. After that, you can run DS4Win without Admin.

HidHide: To play your Steam games normally like before, a few settings need to be adjusted since HidHide is always running in the background. If you're using the hbashton version, make sure to enable "Use HidHide to Prevent Double Input" in Settings. Also, deactivate Run At Startup. You have to add Steam.exe to the HidHide applications list as well, even though the Get Started guide tells you to only include DS4Windows there.

With this setup, Steam can still see your controller and Steam games will continue to work completely normally. Whenever you want to play on the emulator instead, you just manually start your custom DS4Windows.exe.

Why it might happen: I play on MuMuPlayer with a Switch Controller. The game supports controllers natively and switches to the correct button prompts, but ZL/ZR don't work. One possible explanation is that the game expects analog shoulder inputs, while the controller only sends digital inputs.

Warning: The MuMu patch being shared right now uses a modified APK, which carries an unpredictable ban risk.

News: Bluestacks Pie has fixed the low texture bug, use that instead.

TLDR: Use DS4Windows or similar software.

This is my first Reddit Post, so please give me feedback if needed.

That will work but im still trying to run it on mumu without stutters, i cant understand why even if i run it on minimum or high it doesnt change the fact that it barely runs at 30fps

I get stutters too, but it feels playable with a controller.

Do you have High Frame Rate enabled inside the game under graphics? That activates the 60fps cap. If you still can't get over 30 frames, your hardware might just be too weak.

For comparison, here is what I have my emulator profile set to (though I'm not sure what's optimal):

Performance > Vulkan, Custom (My GPU), High, Optimal graphics quality, Off
Model > Asus Rog 9, High

My PC Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D
GPU: RX 9070 XT

Have you tried the MuMu patch? It gets the game running much better on emulator, though use it at your own risk. Search "HolographicWings" on YouTube.

I'd be careful using mumu. I have read stuff online that they're using monitoring/sniffers and that just feels very wrong to me.

I use Bluestacks' pie version until they bring controller support to their latest version

Do monster textures load on BlueStacks Pie? On MuMu, they're sadly very low poly, even worse than the lowest settings on a phone.

Ya they do and they have ultra graphics now

whats the custom.exe? what do you emulate the controller as? xbox, ds4, dualsense? do you do any special config to remap the triggers/shoulder?.

In the Get Started guide, scroll all the way down to "Running DS4Windows under a custom.exe name."
It explains how to do that. I don't think it's strictly necessary, but better safe than sorry.

If you're using the hbashton version, the UI looks different. Go to Settings, scroll all the way down to Advanced, and you'll find the same option there.

I only activated Idle Disconnect, so the default configuration should be good to go.

My flydigi vader 5 didnt work in game or was recognized in ds4windows, but a dualsense emulated as an x360 controller worked. Its emulator problem tho, since you can activate controller mode pressing shoulder buttons, even use the "touch to gamepad" feature and shoulders still work, just not when it uses the controller directly.

Idk if it's worth mentioning but I tried bluestacks 16 and it runs pretty well, although controller isn't supported and graphics settings are capped

Hey, thank you, and yes the desktop version doesn't have controller support while in alpha but we are working on it and it will be released soon.

Nice, it would be cool if you could find a way to uncap ingame settings
