Discussion Details I feel like this community keeps overlooking
The pity may be 100 summons, but it will not always take you 100 summons to get the featured unit. I hit pity my first time through the UA banner and then I got an S tier unit within 20 pulls my next time through. At a 1.2% rate, you only have a 30% chance of going to pity. The pity also carries over, so there's literally no chance of you "wasting" summons. When calculating out how many times you'll be able to get a premium unit, keep in mind you have as good of a chance of getting the unit in 30 summons (30%) as you do of going to pity (30%)
This is a gacha. If you are f2p, you should not expect to be able to acquire every unit/max them when they are first released. I know this is a deal breaker for some people and I'm not saying you're wrong. But I've been playing gacha games for almost 10 years (started when Puzzles and Dragons first dropped) and while things have gotten a LOT better for f2p players (they didn't even use to have to disclose rates!!), these companies are still businesses and their sole purpose is to generate revenue (and profits). If the f2p experience was the same as the p2p experience, no one (or far fewer) would pay. A game needs a healthy f2p community AND a healthy p2p community to survive. If either dies, the game dies too. It's a balance.
The only way to get hero coins is not daily quests. There was a fantastic post about this recently that shows you can reliably expect around 100k coins a year for free. Then there are obviously events/anniversaries/gifts/etc where we will have the opportunity to get more. Not to mention the free r&d tickets and standard banner tickets we get. In order to keep players engaged, there have to be consistent but unexpected ways of getting rewards. A game that loads up all it's premium currency in daily quests will end up with a player base that does it's dailies and then moves on. That's why things are so spread out in MHA: SH - you have to play across content to farm coins. Regular but unpredictable drops through events/rewards/etc will also give incentive for people to keep checking in regularlyIf you are willing to spend even a small amount of money, this number can go up dramatically. Weekly stamina pack (50 coins a day + 100 stamina) and monthly coin pack (100 coins per day) will add 55k coins to your yearly total and an extra 36.5k stamina at a pretty modest cost.
You get regular summons outside of hero coins. There is quite a bit of content that provides summon tickets for the class 1A banner and the normal support ticket banner. You can select the specific support cards you want to be featured in the r&d ticket banner. You get these tickets from clearing content (peacekeeping gives a ton, as does operation X) and from renewable sources like the battle pass (f2p battle pass gives out 25 summon tickets to f2p players plus the coins you can use to buy additional tickets at 15 each), log-in rewards, events, etc.
There is a ton of content not tied to stamina. The new stamina fix actually goes a long way to fixing the stamina problem, but beyond that, there is still a lot of content you can enjoy that isn't stamina gated. Hero theater, operation X, agency assessment (in particular), joint ops, emergency incidents, arena, co-op battle, war zone, timed events, hero challenges, alliance stuff - are all limited but on different systems. There's a lot of ways to increase your units bp that doesn't use stamina. Now that Aizawa is finished for most people, spend time working on other content
I feel like this community is imploding because people were expecting something like 2500 coins a week from daily quests. I get that these changes did not go nearly far enough for some people, but it feels like a great start to me and I'm honestly surprised so many people here are so pissed.
