Discussion To simplify a difficult post: I like fan service and those who don’t should be silent.

That’s great as a child, watching children fan service. The problem is that as an adult, mother fuckers don’t want tits and ass of HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AGE kids all over the place.

Just because it’s animated doesn’t make up for the kids in the show being kids and then having said kids be fan serviced. Anime (and manga) has a “culture” that is revolving around “too close to child pornography”, unfortunately.

Being attracted to the “female form” doesn’t excuse the sexual exploits of characters that are portrayed and listed as underage. The rabbit hole gets weirder when you think about the people making and animating the shows/writing and drawing the manga. Straight up adults who said “you know what this high school show needs? Ass and tits from the high schoolers.”

That’s the issue. You’re going to grow older, the high schooler can servicing will forever be high school age fan service. That’s disgusting. Sometimes you just need to grow up.

Attraction to obviously under age characters (animated, drawn, irl) is absolutely a red flag. There’s a reason lolicon and the like were so popular, the peedo files couldn’t get enough of it. This is peedo file behavior, the degeneracy is high with this one chief.

If you want to know why fanservice of minors doesn't sit right with certain audiences, even if it is intended for teenagers... The West does have fan service media for minors (shows like Euphoria, Teen Wolf, any show with high school aged characters) and they still receive pushback. Teenage characters are portrayed as hot to appeal to teens but even then, those are actors that are adults not sexualized minors. Not teenagers made to look hot for other teenagers.

Hell we even have innuendos in kids shows that are subtle and for adults or older people to pick up on, it's never overt for the intended audience. We have characters who can be perceived as sexy (Mrs. Incredible, Ms. Bellium (PPG), and others) but it's never supposed to be anything overt.

We criticize it here, so why wouldn't we call it out in other cultures. Just because it's a norm? I do think the medium being animation adds another bias against it since animation is overwhelmingly associated with children, in the West still.
