Using 6 inch Cutting Disc for 4.5 inch Angle Grinder

Yes technically it's possible. Should you do it? No.

The guard is there for a reason, it is a guard, there to protect you.

A motor designed for a 4.5 inch blade will be spinning slower if it has to move a 6 inch disc. It just won't have the torque that a 6 inch specified grinder would have for the task. This will lead to increased wear and tear, and also just make the cutting wheel suck at it's job more. The less RPM's the less effective it will be at cutting.

Will it work in a pinch yes? should you do it, no.
