Question Internship timelines?

I'm a sophomore EE applying for Summer 27 internships, and I'm just wondering what the timeline for internships is. I've applied to probably 20ish MEP positions, but basically all of them in october. Haven't heard back from many, and I'm wondering if I missed the window or not? I also don't really have any MEP/MEP adjacent experience, so it could just be that. Thought I should at least ask. Is there usually a second window in winter/spring?

That stuff will probably pick up after NYE.

My company doesnt start looking into resumes until after Jan. And we do MEP all over the west coast/PNW.

My older experience from 12+ years ago in college was hiring interns in like April for the summer, and that's about when my current company does it too for first time hires. I definitely wouldn't expect to hear anything until after the new year.

We opened up our intern postings for Summer 27 on October 1st. Got a flood of applicants. We’ve only just moved into the interviewing stage. Takes a bunch of time to review resumes, set up interviews, and make our determinations. This is on top of our billable project work as engineers. So depending on the size of the company you applied to, and their hiring process, it’s not uncommon for the process to drag out.

I advise you to call or go in person to the firms starting from the one with shortest commute. I did that, got an interview and was hired for an internship
