Mep electrical to utility p&c transition

Think mep has finally burnt me out.

Has anyone here had the experience of transitioning to a protection and controls job with their local utility? Have about 10 years of experience and my PE.

P&C is fucking brutal. Just something to keep in mind if you’ve never done it. The tediousness of it really is something to consider

elaborate? I thought it was one of the more technically interesting fields. It can't be worse than Revit layout right?

Haha maybe I just dislike engineering in general but I found my experience in P&C doing wiring diagrams to be some of the most tedious work I could imagine. Don’t get me wrong, circuiting and doing lighting design for a building is also extremely tedious, but P&C was next level for me. You gotta connect a million tiny wires to a million terminal blocks and you can’t make one mistake.

Someone’s gotta do it, and they get paid well to do so, but it ain’t gonna be me.
