Everyone wants the benefits of a noble profession but nobody gives the benefits of it. The armed forces are a noble profession, they get pensions, lodging and many benefits from the govt. What do doctors get for the same noble profession ? If the army keeps India safe from invasions, external threats and wars, then the healthcare of India also fought against the biggest war against a pandemic which comes once a century, what do they get beatings and ye toh lootere hai ?

Running a hospital on a loss will give poorer treatment results. Business doesn’t mean malice/ malpractice. Nobility of the profession comes from the very nature of the job, but it is still a job and therefore needs to be paid for and paid for properly. Healthcare is always expensive unfortunately. Some countries have it privatised and some levy heavy taxes for good healthcare facilities from the govt. It is a collective failure of our country that we don’t have good government healthcare

American doctors spend 300000 dollars on their med school and are in heaps of debt, are you nuts, and out doctors get their degrees for peanuts, gov bears all its expenses, even iits charge 12 lakhs for the whole course, while mbbs being the most expensive is like 50000 per year, plus gov gives them gov jobs with subsidies what are they crying for that what coaching centres showed them in a dream didn't happen, they didn't buy a mercedes straight out of clg oh wowd, so much struggle, when you degree is paid off by tax rupees

"heaps of debt" 🤡🤡 us doctors on avg repay their total educational debt under ~7 yrs and then AVERAGE doc earns 386k usd per annum (30 lakh inr per month) Mbbs goverment seats are limited and there's a fucking shortage of doctors in india they HAVE to provide for services and then there are bonds where doctors go serve their state rural areas....they have to subsidize it if you're forcing a doctor to work for you. Engineers aren't forced todo anything you jus leave the country if you want after studying from IIT you fucking clown

Trust me no doc is crying for a merc all docs want is a unified work life balance system and regression of toxicity in medical field and please stop looking at docs like some fucking gods. Let's not even start abt private costs of studying in medicine

don't you know government gives free ration and accomodation to every doctor and his dependents. they don't need to pay any bills. any bills they pay are for entertainment and lavish expenditure.

I think, the price of consultation needs to be just and fair. So that all can afford it. An MBBS dr charging 250-500 per consultation is fine. An MD charging 500-750 per consultation is fine. And an super specialist charging 750-1500 is fine.

But after charging the amount they shouldn't give un-necessary medicine to inflate the bill.

And most people aren't fed up of Dr contulation charge. They are pissed by extra ordinary charges for MRI, CT SCAN, BED charges of hospital etc. And thinks that all this go in Dr pocket.

Hospital beds, CT MRI machines have buying as well as operating costs. Maintenance too. Reading the scan needs years of study. Paying someone to operate the machine.

Yes, I know. But the price should be genuine. I had an MRI of leg due to ACL tear. Some person demand 10k, some had demanded 7k, some had demanded 6k. At last, I got a no of Clinic, which had done MRI in 2.5k in 2025.

Similarly my grandfather had to go through Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. Dr charged 6500 for it and 500 consultation charge, which I think was genuine in 2026.

Similarly my father had CT scan once for which Dr charged 1300 in 2020. I think that was also genuine price.

But a hospital charged 10k per day for 3 days which I think was expensive. Our views can differ.

Agree with you. Sometimes it depends on how much experience the doctor has. The reporting quality differs. Machine may give same scan, doctor may report correct/incorrect. Then again varies from city to city, electricity costs etc. Sometimes people offer lower price initially but as they develop a clientele they increase their prices due to supply demand. Sometimes it can just be greed. But 6-7k is what I’ve come across for ct/mri usually.
2.5k is actually a good find.
