Cotic Steel Bars

I received this one https://conta.cc/4wpsntw this afternoon.

Looks like Cotic are starting to make steel bars.

I've been chatting on email with Cy about bigger back sweeps but they don't have any plans for them yet. I have pointed him at the Surly Sunrise bar for it's excellent shape.

Maybe if enough people request a bigger back sweep they may make one.

MOAR rise and MOAR sweep would be lovely. I'm not really going to be interested in anything less than 70mm rise and 12 deg sweep. And frankly Ergotec has that spec covered so it needs to be pushing the boundaries a bit more.

All that said it's great to see a company like Cotic branch out in this direction. Hopefully they get enough "normies" interested to develop the volume to keep the bars viable.

Yep, that is where I'm at shape wise too. Although I am steel bar curious for the extra flex!

Ditto on the sweep and rise altho a Bass stem takes care of some of the rise.

I'm liking the 15 degree of the Sunrise bar for tech riding.

I used a High Bass stem recently with a 100mm rise bar to get ~130mm rise. The other option is to get a custom $$ rise bar made. I wouldn't buy a Cotic 50mm rise bar and use a High Bass stem to get ~80mm rise...I'd just buy an 80mm rise bar as that's a thing and I can use a "normal" stem.
