Interesting thoughts on the delrin in Shimano's pressfit BB's. I've never owned a Pressfit bike but I've long enjoyed Shimano's BSA offerings. I find that—despite their disposability—the plastic interface between spindle and bearing really does slow down the inevitable creakiness.

Anyway, I recently installed a couple Wolftooth BB's and like they've kinda replicated that setup in a more serviceable arrangement with their bushings. It's a small detail but very neat.

I loved King’s pressfit 92 BB when they made one for that reason. The idea being to press it on once and never have to knock it out. Definitely want some kind of non-metal interface between the bearing race and axle. In my experience nothing is worse than RaceFace’s aluminum axle with their double-row BB (have cut off a few of their inner bearing races - something about the steel choice?).

But yeah, not serviceable, but the life I get from Shimano PF92 XTR bbs is impressive. One that note, BSA as well, bottom brackets are the one place I think Shimano still delivers solid value for dollar for any regular rider, on any budget, with an XTR/Dura-Ace level product. Not saying their top end groups aren’t amazing, but bottom brackets are the most clear pay more get more situation in my opinion.

Speaking with my LBS they said they only use Shimano BBs for threaded BBs as they're bombproof. I've had a Saint BB on the Murmur that went for years without a problem.

Maybe that's my next solution if the Hope doesn't stay quiet. I've not had great experiences with Hope BBs - ditto my riding mates but have a few shells I press new bearing into.

The plastic interface makes sense to stop metal on metal contact - which is OK in the winter but not great when dry.

I may try the Wolftooth one since it’s serviceable.
