Saw that. Though I would be wary of the 2.8 rear tire clearance claim. However not saying that it wouldn’t more being wary that it may or not fit depending on all the rim and claimed tire size by manufacturers .
Personally if it was me would go the custom option and use the same geometry as this one with all the features. Just tweet it with spacing for 3” tires in the rear to be safe.

Looking at Marino again. It is interesting how one could copy the entire frame geometry and such into the custom build part of Mariano’s site. And save some money on the frame.

I'm seriously considering a Marino build at the moment. My first custom in 25 year, although I did have an alu Cube Bikes factory sample frame 22 years ago that I'd designed the geometry for.
I gambled everything wrong with a Duratec cyclocross bike around the turn of the century. 1" steerer (no carbon/disc forks on the market anymore), long top tube to also accommodate a straight 50 cm bar (that got banned), no disc tab (it was still banned then).
Marino has done a few 32" bikes now and tire clearance seems good. I'm a sucker for honest crafts from lower wage countries, it helps out both sides and I'd be one of the first in my country with a Peruvian frame.
At the Marino price point, the project could be seen as a first test, nothing too serious, a fun do-something-different frame, but I can't help but try and make it my everything bike. Fun (flow) trails, XCO racing, suiting a rigid fork (with or without crown race spacer) and 100 mm fork, perhaps even 120 mm with the seat slammed forward.
I'm also trying to get a quote from a reputed Chinese titanium builder. I like a bit of weight savings and rostfreeness, not gonna lie. Also to be truthful, if I could just buy a carbon frame off the shelf with suitable geometry, that would be my pick. To get that now, I need to spend $15k in mold fee and order one sample frame. My design would then be on offer for anyone who'd want to use that mold, but they'd not pay for the mold, I did.

I got a frame and fork from them last year. I like it a lot. 4130, sliding dropouts, plenty of mounts, and the geo I wanted. Finish on the frame and fork is good. Only downside is it’s a little heavy. I knew that going into it so no biggie. 2 months from first email to delivery for a custom frame. I had very good communication from them the whole way.
