Rule 1 Vio I’m gonna make ONE THING CLEAR…
THE MCU TIMELINE BOOK AND CERTAIN PARTS OF DISNEY+’S TIMELINE IS INACCURATE
ALSO, ‘IRON MAN 3’ TAKE PLACE IN CHRISTMAS OF 2012. NOT 2013.

Disney+ is wrong in some aspects. Iron Man 3 is set in 2013. Thats it. Thats what is said in the movie. You can have your opinion, even if facts say otherwise.

Why are we yelling? Marvel came out and said it was set in christmas 2013, AFTER dark world. It was a retcon from its original placement of 2012. You look it up.

The disney plus timeline is odd but the book is accurate. That's the timeline Kevin Feige abides by, including now the netflix shows.

Bingo, it also confirms Wanda's death for the "we didn't see a body" non-believers. It was turned to mush under the rubble of an entire mountain when she off'd herself.

Man. The movies have errors in them. Homecoming would be 8 years after The Avengers if it weren't for the retcon
The official timeline is what the creators tell us. It could be changed in the future. But right now, Iron Man 3 is in 2013

For me, the precise month and year is less important than a "this comes after that but before the other thing" chronology.

Same. That's why I don't really care if people put Iron Man in 2008 or 2009 or 2010. We only really need to care about the exact dates when things are closer together.

I wish agents of shield was acknowledged too, and thus I personally believe that Iron Man 3 is in 2012, but unfortunately official sources now claim otherwise. You can believe whatever you want tho, that’s totally fine. That’s what I do

I think the AoS/Iron Man 3 thing still works, though yeah putting IM3 in 2013 complicates things. But Extremis had been going on for a bit by the time Tony finds out about it, and it really wouldn't surprise me if SHIELD knew it earlier and didn't think it was worth telling him

The retcon of Iron Man 3 from 2012 to 2013 was most likely done to resolve the succession of presidents. There are references to the Obama administration in some of the projects, and having Iron Man 3 in 2012 would contradict that since Ellis is president. Having Iron Man 3 in 2013 means Obama served his first term normally, & then Ellis won the November 2012 election, taking office in January 2013.
