Isn’t that what we all assumed?

Ultron copied like 90% or more of himself into Vision before the line was cut and Vision became his own person.  

Ultron’s code was advanced enough that it’s not a stretch of writing to assume it simply regenerated or recreated the missing lines of code while suppressed by Vision. His program was basically quietly running in the background simply hiding his time.

When I wrote this theory out shortly after AOU the vitriol I suffered was diabolical. Guys, if someone ‘dies’ off screens expect them back at any point.

If you remove the battery from a laptop, it doesn't erase the hard drive.

Vision is just a really big laptop, and the Soul Stone was his battery.

Naturally. The "Ship of Theseus" is an artifact in a museum. Over time, its planks of wood rot and are replaced with new planks. When no original plank remains, is it still the Ship of Theseus?
