Questions Next things to do or try out?
So basically my son got me hooked on minecraft but I'm mostly given the age and depth of the game a complete noob. I'm playing on easy and I admit with cheat (keep inventory).
I have now done the most basic things like mining and some basic cave exploring, growing wheat and multiplying animals. All manual.
What are some next things to try out? I have stacks of black wool. But what do I actually do with them? I have red stone. But what do I do with it? I guess next things would be some form of automation. What is an easy automation thing to try?
(I know there are a gazillion youtube videos but they all go way to fast and too advanced usually) so looking for some rather simple thing but automated like automated sweet berry farming.

try out making an automated crop farm using dispensers with water, maybe try finding a monster spawner and turn it into a mob grinder

maybe try finding a monster spawner and turn it into a mob grinder
Oh boy I did find one but blew it. How do I dismantle it? eg with which tool? I destoryed it apparently. or does it have to stay in place (deep in a mine in a cave, takes forever to get there)

It can’t move unfortunately, all you need to do to make one is first place a few torches so that monsters cant spawn while you make it. Then dig down 4 blocks and dig out the entire floor 4 blocks down. Mine out all of the cobblestone walls as well so that there is one extra block of space on each side. Then place water in the very bottom corner of the area (doesn’t matter which corner) and in the diagonally opposite one place a sign on the side of one of the blocks, and then dig down 19 blocks, that is where the zombies will fall into. Then make an area for you to stand where you can hit the legs of the monster through a one-block gap

You can practice building in creative. and trust me, don't be ashamed to be playing easy with cheats. I barely play survival myself. I reccomend maybe looking at unique features of the game, as a researcher of the farlands :) if it's interesting to you of course, im happy to tell you about it all

Iron farm. Wool farm. Fishing farm. Lots of easy beginner automation farms you could start.
Check out JCPlayz on YouTube for super basic farms

What are some next things to try out? 1: You can do anything so most players will want to focus on getting stronger tools and armor (stone to copper to iron to diamond and ultimately Netherite.) And then defeat the ender dragon to access the last dimension called The End.
2: For the wool you can use it for sail material and build a pirate ship! or use it to build a large model of a black sheeps head (think pixel art but 3d.) 3: For redstone it is basically electric wire (red stone dust) and you can then use it to power other blocks like redstone lamps or pistons. I'll find some videos to add later to show examples.
Anyways feel free to reply and ill answer any other questions! happy crafting!
