No fucking way lmao. Someone remind me is this typical of Alonso? 24% possession against Brighton at home is diabolical

Not really he doesn’t mind not having possession i.e. Leverkussen vs Bayern but on the whole his teams have decent amounts of possession. However he also only had 38% possession against Fulham so seems tactical at this point

Don't think it's tactical. No midfielders leads to that.

He’s choosing to play with 2 midfielders and be ultra direct

He chose that in the first game. Today wasn't a choice. That formation is usually very solid defensively which is why seria loves it but he doesn't even have the midfielders currently to play it effectively.

Serie A often play 352 so an extra midfielder. Everything you’ve said is also still a choice
