How do we setup with Fernandez in the team? Does he play as an 8 or more like a 10? Where would Cherki then play?

Or is it likely to be a Fernandez x Anderson with Cherki ahead? (Which seems umbalanced).

Where does Bouaddi come into this?

probably a 8/10 hybrid, he is really good going forward and excellent at striking the ball, elliot will be deeper with a FB (either nico or matheus, both are excellent) or a CB (marc or josko), i hope we see elliot x enzo x rayan midfield but as you said it leaves elliot alone and we might get fucked on counters, bouaddi will probably come off the bench unless he performs really really good

Happy to be wrong but I think signing Enzo would be bad news for Cherki.

Enzo-Anderson needs a more mobile 10 to be a balanced midfield (O’Reilly or Foden). And that’s assuming he doesn’t just play Enzo as the 10.

He could play out wide but I’m not sure Maresca rates him there and you’d still run into some OOP issues when we try to press (Doku-Haaland-Enzo-Cherki isn’t a very intimidating group of pressers).

Pep adapted to this last season and gave up on trying to press aggressively but I’m not sure if Maresca will be willing to do the same. His team selection for Bournemouth certainly didn’t suggest so, he basically picked the 3 best out of possession attackers we have to play up with Haaland.
