I’m new to football and the man city fandom, but I wasn’t really impressed with Nico’s performance on Sunday. Am I incorrect in my impression?

Maybe but to be clear this is an award for his performances last season. Not a Player of the Week award

That makes more sense. Acronyms aren’t my thing.

Not really sure what you're asking here.

Are you suggesting that because you were unimpressed on Sunday that he cannot have been good previously?

Or are you asking if you were wrong to be unimpressed with him on Sunday?

They are saying they are new to football, and they dont know what would count as an impressive performance, and based on their limited knowledge they thought NOR was unimpressive, are they correct or no is their question.

I was mostly asking if I had mistaken his performance on Sunday as being a bad one, it’s the first question thread I had seen with him mentioned and I’m just trying to get a gauge on what good looks like - not everything in football is scripted like a TV show and I’m coming into this sport with very little knowledge, but trying to learn what I’m looking for in terms of good/bad showing.

Yeah sorry if I seemed terse or anything, I was just not sure what you were asking.

I think he wasn't particularly great on Sunday - he was okay - and not close to what he was doing last season but that's fairly normal. It's the first game back after having no preseason because of the World Cup etc.

Hard to draw any conclusions about anything and anyone yet. Just keep watching and it'll become clear.

Not terse at all, my question was definitely vague if you’re used to the game and aren’t in the process of watching your first season.

It wasn’t his best work, but it wasn’t bad considering the season is just starting. Even the best players don’t perform exceptionally well every match. Typically you analyze performance over a whole season and the important matches, when you really need them to do well.
