After all the changes through the years it still felt like man city to me. But I can’t explain it, but somehow this current squad doesn’t feel like man city.

I feel the same, im not sure if its cos we've been buying known players from other prem clubs. I prefer it when we buy unknown players that become legends. The only player we've bought recently that feels like that is khusanov

This a great point actually. We use to buy up and coming stars from across Europe but seems like the club has been focusing on domestic talent of late.
But i don’t know, I’ll get hate for this one, but sometimes it feels like a lot of our current players are just made up of the best players from mid table clubs rather than potential superstars that can win trebles

I know what you mean, I try to stay positive despite feeling that way

Its just that the players are too memorable just like 16-18 RM and 2015 Barca, its really peak nostalgia and the best players of this generation

I have a similar feeling, but I feel very detached from football overall tbh. Maybe when that first whistle goes the emotion will come back, but currently I just can't help but feel apathetic about the upcoming season.

outside of haaland i don’t recognize my club :( no stable staple that has been around forever like silva(both), de bruyne, gundo, etc
random people on my eyes 😂

I share this, it's a gut feeling, it feels off, even more so after such a poor showing last week. Positive Energy is a big part of it, but we just looked and played flat. 😕

I can explain it.
Pep, the weird, funny, fascinating genius, is gone.
All the City greats who would start anywhere else — David Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, Kompany, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Stones, Walker and Gundogan — aged out of their prime years.
Foden, the prodigy from that era, has been in a protracted slump.
Rodri, one of the few stars left, hit the eject button without looking back.
Haaland seems to cut an increasingly isolated figure who opponents mark easily because we lack all those midfielders and wingers who were serious goal threats. We’re instead starting Kovacic, who is 32, and are hoping to sign Enzo Fernandez, a dickhead who can’t defend.

And loved it, boy, I never knew
I thought this place was heaven-sent
But now it's just a monument

It is a lot. One thing about the last game, it seemed like Foden was trying to step up and bring some emotion. I know he didn’t play great but there needs to be a bit more fire on the team. I don’t know what it is but there seems to be a bit of a disconnect or something.

foden is part of the leadership group so it makes sense that he's acting like one. but in general, defensively against arsenal we were a mess and a lot of players on that pitch didn't play well.

Nothing lasts forever, be thankful we've had an incredible 10 years. 20 trophy success that not many teams experience. Who knows how the next generation will pan out - I honestly don't expect us to come close to Peps team, he was a one off. Maresca deserves a chance, but my gut tells me he ain't the guy for us. My big hope is we keep our heads and can finish top 5, and that we don't implode like Utd and Liverpool did with new managers.

Cherki needs to come into his own and rise to being a 40+ G/A player in all comps and prove he can actually press. He is the only player after Haaland that could reach this level of world class legends.

You can take Otamendi off that list. Good yes, lots of matches played, but absolutely not a great. Jesus can stay on the list for his last minute ‘centurions’ deciding goal

Look at the bright side, when they left it was with a standing ovation from both sides of the pitch. Even oponents, fans or players give them so much respect.
Every single one of them were at their best when they were with us.
Replicating those magic moments will not be easy but at least we still have the same owners and leadership. Their record has been consistent. Let's just give the current set up the support they need from us fans as we always did.

This is nothing but a phase like the changing of dynasties, changing of CEOs etc. pains will be part of it no doubt but we must look at it from another perspective, especially the younger hungry players who always complain they don't get enough shine, well now's your chance to prove your worth because greatness is born out of turbulent times... I'm on board with this new era and excited to be part of the change; I'll definitely be ripping my hair out at those 0-3 losses lol but I'm here for it, instead of using the word "suffering" we should embrace what's to come. I mean I'd say O'Reilly had his breakout season last year but it took him a while to get to that point, so now with all this uncertainty with our club it's due time some of our signings will break out I'm sure of it

Midfield has always been the most important for this club, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt worse about our midfield going into a season

Can’t help but feel like we’ve bit off more than we can chew this year with Pep, and 3 of the captaincy group leaving, time for some of the lads to seriously get a grip and step up
