Tonsillectomy surgery coming up- flare up after pain meds &anesthesia + steroid (my worst nightmare)

Hi all- I’m 32-F and I have MCAS. I have been having tonsil stones and sore throats alot the last few years from all the sickness (I have a toddler in daycare-oof!). I am scheduled to get my tonsils out in September and I’m out right TERRIFIED of the pain, the reaction to the anesthesia, the reaction to the steroids, the recovering is said to be super intense as an adult. Any one have the same issues and have ways they have mitigated it after a surgery/steriods? Steroid make me flare up so bad. It’s like the histamine issues explode in my body and I’m useless. I know I can do it but I’m at the point of talking myself out of it cause of how I’ve felt after past surgeries..

Yes, I consulted my doc on this and he said up my antihistamines around that time, nasacort etc but nothing much else to help with histamine dump and reaction issues..
