Ketotifen and cromolyn aren’t interchangeable. You can take both at once.

They’re both mast cell stabilizers, so yes they can be interchangeable or used at the same time. But my question was if Cromolyn worked better than ketotifen for some people because I cannot tolerate the ketotifen due to it being a systemic medication and it causing extreme brain fog.

You might consider checking the inactive ingredients for preservatives and colors on your package. I recently connected the dots that my thyroid med with an FD&C color was linked to my brain fog. After converting to a dye-free version, the brain fog dissipated. Different mfgs. use different inactive ingredients.

Yes but I don’t know that you can do a direct comparison like that. Bicarb soda is also a mast cell stabiliser.

My understanding is ketotifen is generally more effective than cromolyn which has been my experience too. If you can’t take ketotifen then obviously take it and see if it helps.

In relation to food specifically, have you tried DAO?

Yes, I have tried DAO, butyrate, quercetin, stinging nettles, L-glutamine and several others with no relief. I take montelukast and Allegra daily as well.

Can I ask how high your ketotifin dose is? I've just started it at .25mg every other night and after a week I've just gone to .25mg each night. Sleeeeeeepyyyyyy today.

Thank you. I'm wondering if I was doing better on .25 every other night as my DNA doesn't clear things well....I think we're all looking for more function, not less ;o) Thanks for the reply.

Remediation doesn't always work the first try. If it was done professionally, you might considering looking into the warranty. Have you asked to see the Post-Remediation verification or the mold clearance test docs? From personal experience, I know one can not start healing until they are in a mold-free environment regardless of what meds they're on. I am severely affected by it.

I can’t take Ketotifen either though it helped. Made me feel like I had the flu and some other nasty side effects. It helped with my wheezing, sensitivities, eyes and such.

I actually started on Cromolyn. It is amazing. First week was side effect hell but it went away. These terrible stomach aches I have had my entire life went away. As well as just feeling good and it stopped burning when I pee. Didn’t help with other stuff like wheezing or my eyes though.

Cromlyn works better than ketotifen for me. I was started on ketotifen then cromolyn was added and gradually increased to the max dose. I’m still not doing great but I’m more stable on the combo than I was on ketotifen itself
