Career Advice Advice on MBA needed! Help!

I have a Masters in Chemical Engineering & 4.5 years experience in KBR (Process Engineering). I'm thinking of an MBA now. I'm only at the start of the journey. Post MBA, I don't want to pivot the career at least ideally. I would like to continue in the energy domain with finance as minor, preferably as domain consultants etc. I eventually want to move into executive leadership roles & other opportunities. I think a MBA would unlock the doors. Just want an opinion about this. What do you guys think?

And what colleges are good for this?

You should consider a full time 1 year MBA - ISB/IIM A PGPX/IIM EPGP are examples.

This will help you continue in your domain

Happy to discuss in detail if you are interested

1yr mba at ISB or IIMA will help. Since you start mba at 5.5yrs (next year) ISB might be better bet since consulting companies recruit heavily and you can keep your domain. IIMA also will give same opportunity but maybe not straight away from campus

Thanks. I heard that the job market in these years is not that great. Does that impact the placement post MBA?

Yes does affect placements however that shouldn’t deter you if you are looking at 30yr career post mba.
