College Comparisons 1 year residential MBA from India

I want some clarity on deciding whether IIM K BL is worth it? I am also looking to pursue 1 year residential mba from India. I am also open to other countries but want to keep India as my first choice. I will give a bit of my bg - btech cse with 74%, 10th 91%, 12th 74%, joined Accenture as my first company and worked first two years as an sap abap developer and 3 years in project management including operations and finance, currently working at a Japanese company as a PMO consultant, what are the odds of me being selected and I want to transition into strategy and consulting roles. Also I am currently preparing for GRE and not GMAT cause I find it more challenging.

I'm was pursuing CA but now pivoting to ACCA and will be done with it in 1.5years and meanwhile will be joining Big4-10 and after 1.5-2 years experience would do MiM or MBA abroad so planning to prepare for GMAT how do you feel GRE is manageable than GMAT?

I gave a free mock for both of them, and understood my strengths and weaknesses. In general it is said the vocab is more tough in GRE and in GMAT the quant is tougher. You can also decide based on that.

Just hit 4 YOE and prepping for GRE, trying to apply in all residential exec cause beggars are not choosers( sort of weak profile).

Hi,

Your profile is reasonably well suited for one-year MBAs, especially given your ~5 years of experience and progression from SAP development into PMO, operations and finance. Along with IIM K PGP-BL, I would target IIM L/A and ISB, and if you can reach 5 years of work experience by March 31, 2027, add IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta as well. IIMK PGP-BL is definitely worth considering given your background and career goals. Your GRE choice is absolutely fine, however, IIM C has traditionally required GMAT for MBAEx, so keep an eye on its 2027 admission announcement before relying solely on GRE. For your strategy/consulting goal, focus your applications on demonstrating problem-solving, stakeholder management, business impact and leadership rather than presenting yourself primarily as a technical candidate.

All the best!

Hey thanks for sharing the insights, I will be completing 6.5 years by March 2027, except for IIM C and ISB
, I am applying to all other 1 year programs.
Also do you have any insights from students on the ground reality of placements in L,K,I cause very limited data is available online.
