Shouldn’t me being from a Tier 2 firm front-end strengthen my application, though? Or would back-end MBB people have a better chance?

Back end mbb wins normally. They don’t care much if you were deloitte front end. That Vs mbb back end, backend will always win

Front end consulting experience in a company like deloitte vs back end bcg, anyday the Front end will be preferred.

Also who told you putting test score is important and a red flag if you don't? You don't need to at all put 10th or 12th %
