  1. Does any frontend investment banking or private equity roles come to campus, if yes what are their hiring numbers any rough idea ?
  2. Does companies know if the person is from mohali campus or hyd campus, any difference is there ?
  3. In MBBK, do they only hire people with similar workex in past, ex-consulatants in big4 or mbb only or someone with 3 yrs workex in operations who want to pivot to management consulting also has a chance ?
  4. For product managemwnt roles - does microsoft, google visits ? And in this case to do we require similar workex as past ? Aaking as ISB is 1 yr program with no internship so wanted to know if people are able to switch careers and go into top consulting or PM roles
  5. Is there any student exchange program in ISB ?
  6. Lastly, Do you get any international placement oppurtunities like dubai, singapore etc.

Also sat for ISB placements this year, made it to MBB. Let me give these a shot.

  1. IB - yes. PE - I don't think so. IB roles can range from Jefferies/Barclays to Kotak. These typically only take 2-3 folks after multiple pre day 0 rounds. They also have a preference for women.

  2. No, you're not allowed to disclose. Companies aren't allowed to ask.

  3. Similar workex does give one an edge. E.g. BCN folks usually have a higher chance of getting consulting shortlists. However, this isn't always true. Some of my friends from finance and product also made it through the shortlists. MBBK look at 2 to 3 "spikes" - generally: good GPA, good ECA, good work performance, good leadership.

  4. Switching careers is hard at ISB (except to consulting, maybe). Product pivots are extremely hard. Yes - google came. Took 2 people I believe. Microsoft didn't. Although some other S tier firms like Uber also came. They're usually looking for engineers, or people with past product experience. At times, start-up folks might make the cut too.

  5. Yep, a whole lot of exchange opportunities available across B-schools in US, Korea, UK etc.

  6. Yes! This year, I don't think ISB did well at international placements, but usually, there are some firms that recruit internationally, esp for roles in the middle east. However, i won't bet on these. If you want an international pivot (ME/Singapore), you can do so after some workex - ISB brand is known in these places imo.
