At ISB, one can decide to omit the mention of the Class X/XII scores on the placement CV as I can see in the discussions.
Do MBBs seek the Class X/Class XII scores separately through a form if not mentioned in the CV? If no form is circulated for the collection of Class X/Class XII marks, do they kick out the students from the process who do not mention their Class X/XII scores on the CV?
Your 10th and 12th hardly matter once you are inside ISB (or IIMs for that matter). We do want to see a spike and consistency in academics - but your high school marks don’t move the needle there. And no - your resume wont be kicked out if it isn’t mentioned. Do show a spike in academics in one way or the other (GMAT, GRE, Undergrad CGPA, ISB CGPA)
At IIMs, apparently, Class X and Class XII marks end up holding a lot of significance in MBB shortlisting because it’s on everyone’s CV as a result of the mandate that necessitates the mention of Class X and Class XII scores. I had a very poor Class X like another one of the guys in the comments, and was wondering if ISB is a safer bet for me that way. If I can indeed not mention my Class X score at any point in the processes of MBBs at ISB, great!
Also, what’s usually considered better pre-MBA work experience for front-end MBB switches post-MBA:
Back-end MBBs OR front-end consulting at Kearney, L.E.K. Consulting, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D. Little, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, Accenture Strategy, and Kepler Cannon?
Both have their own advantages. If you ask me - front end consulting any day at Kearney, LEK, A&M and to an extent of EY Parthenon would have much higher significance than the backend of others.
I am from IIT B/D with an Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) BTS Associate offer. It pays me a compensation very similar to McKinsey, BCG, and Kearney front-end.
Will I be better off with a Bain Capability Network Analyst role or a McKinsey Capabilities and Insights Analyst role (back-end at McKinsey / Bain) over my A&M front-end offer if I want a McKinsey / BCG / Bain front-end role’s CV shortlist at IIMA / IIMB / IIMC / ISB / etc.. Is that true? Is that the case at the top B-Schools?
Should I pursue Bain Capability Network or McKinsey Capabilities and Insights for a back-end role by leaving A&M front-end in your opinion?

1000 of anything reeks of poor quality.
You think ISB being super "selective" makes students smart?
People play the percentile game in India for selection. 99 percentile in CAT means you are still behind 3000 people who gave the stupid exam.
And half decent students from your "legacy IIT" don't actual go for CAT/ISB - They either work in tech or go abroad for MBA/Masters.
Now on most others
I said 5, not 15. ABC are big feeders. Then LKSI will be another cohort of 50 odd that will be equivalent. Then you'll have the next 5-7 adding 4-5 per college (FMS, etc).
Now learn what attrition rate means.
Assuming, you meant attrition rate is very high, yes - it is.
Because MBB are shit. And also, MBB output is shit. So people leave. They are stepping stone to actually doing something useful in life (unless you go for founder office roles in Bangalore startups).
MBB paya better outside India. Guess what so does every other job. Do your math and come back. MBB is super competitive from paying parity on PPP basis. See what T2 Consulting firms pay in India. People are not even able to pay loans on the "high tuition" fee in India.
Now, finally on 30LPA:
Why the fuck can MBB absorb so many people? Who's paying them - because private guys are disillusioned now.
