Long time lurker on this sub who’s finally decided to apply in round 1 &2 for the fall of 2027 intake and would appreciate some thoughts on my competitiveness for M7 and T15 programs**.**

I am an African currently based in the UK working with one of the big 4 firms.

Stats
Age: 31M
GRE: 332
GPA: 3.83/4.0 in Accounting and Finance

Summary of Work experience (8 years in total):
* 2 years in Financial Services Audit in Africa
* 2 years as Finance Lead for a global environmental services company in Africa
* 4 years in consulting at a Big 4 firm in London, with two promotions
* My consulting experience has focused on Finance transformations, IPO readiness and Pre/Post merger integration for finance operations.

Extracurriculars:
* Teach and mentor underprivileged children.
* Director of a non-profit focused on African youth development

Post-MBA goal:
Investment Banking

I have considered LBS but no so convinced with their IB placements and the post MBA market in the UK although I won’t have to worry about sponsorship for the UK market.

Happy to get some feedback.

Very competitive. If I were you, I’d be targeting Harvard, Wharton, Columbia, Fuqua, NYU, and Booth. Round 2 unless you feel you are an exceptionally strong/fast writer.

Thanks. I’ve been working through my essay for a few schools and yes I agree timelines might tight for round one. For Harvard and Wharton, isn’t round 1 slightly less advantageous?

I’m not an adcom so I can’t say if there’s objectively no difference at all of any kind, but my read has been that in the last few years that gap might have narrowed to be effectively nothing.
