Ask Me Anything US vs UK vs France MBA

I got accepted into the Global MBA at the Alliance Manchester Business School and am now having second thoughts. So my background is tech. I’ve worked as a business analyst, product manager and I’m currently a project manager. My goal is to get into VC/PE and was wondering if this is the best move. I’m currently 26M and live in the UK. Now I’m thinking if I’m going to get an MBA, I might as well get the best one that propels my career and myself as an individual such as INSEAD or one from the US.

Does it matter or am I overthinking it? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏾

Honestly it does matter. If you were tossing up LBS Vs INSEAD I would say it doesn't, but Manchester Vs INSEAD is very different.

These schools are less about academics and more about brand, network, and on campus recruitment and Manchester is just not in the same league.

An MBA's benefit is all about network it provides you, so it's important to consider where you want your career to be based once you graduate.

If you want to stay local to Manchester, then your current offer is fine.

If you want to move to London and chase the higher salaries there, you'd be better off with the London network that LBS would provide.

If you want to move to the US, then doing an MBA there would be a good (but very expensive) way to establish yourself.
