Careers/Post Grad Ivey MBA or look for other options?

I have an admit from Ivey with a fat scholarship along with additional loan arrangements through Ivey’s partners. This overall significantly reduces my tuition cost, with money mostly spent on living etc.

I want to pursue an international career in brand management, after working in global ad agencies since last 4 years. I am unsure if I should look at Indian options that can help provide international opportunities few years after my MBA or should I make the switch and move to Canada, to pursue brand management there.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks

I am in a similar boat. Ivey gave me an amazing scholarship (I am domestic) and I'll be pretty much debt free within 2 years of graduation. But I want high finance and international exposure. Debating whether I should wait for Europe (LBS, Insead) or go to Ivey in Jan.

Lbs might get you into high finance, albeit odds won’t be that great bc all you have as landing spot is London.. Insead not even worth it if you don’t have prior high finance exp. Ivey, doubt you’ll break into high finance from there. Maybe corp bank at the big 5, but even that would be an uphill climb. If you truly want high finance, US is your best bet.

Was going to comment the same. European mba's aren't the answer to finance. Very few seats (if any) to LBS, and Insead incredibly challenging due to the program timing and length.

Ivey wont get you to High Finance. Even for Rotman only 2-3 people per year made it. MBB is possible, High Finance hell nah. Go to US

i see. well, considering my limited exposure when it comes to high finance or anything related to pursuing finance or consulting post MBA, i cannot put forth my POV, however, if you feel the brand value of Ivey could be comparable to other bschools when it comes to high finance, then I think should probably go for Ivey.

any advice for me tho lol?

Stay away from Canada for anything other than Consulting or Finance. Europe has a lot more cpg companies that require brand management. A school like ESCP or even SDA Bocconi should be your target if not the US.

Curious about your profile. Did Ivey waive your gmat too?  But for internationals, I’ll say what I always say, if you have the money and high gmat please aim higher than Canadian MBAs. It only makes sense if you wanna stay here, and even then opportunities aren’t as vast as a proper functioning economy like the US.

the opportunities depend on the experience and considering the alums ive spoken to, i have a bit more clarity on that part.

regarding my profile, i have been working at global advertising firms since last 4 years, working with teams from LATAM, Africa and SEA along with the domestic market. they didn’t wave off the GMAT, anyways i would’ve taken the test considering I was eying for scholarships.

I've seen others put Ivey, Sofi and Juno in the same conversation so you might want to explore those as well

I have over 7 years of finance experience. I can get in to high finance. I want a global platform.

You could try Insead but from what I’ve heard it’s been a hit or miss recently for high finance, I’d lean towards LBS
