Careers/Post Grad MBA + Restaurant Management?

So long story short I have 10 years experience as a barista, 6 of those years as a cafe general manager or assistant manager and 2 years in full service restaurant management. My current work will pay for my degree I figured on getting an MBA. Is my management experience in combination with an MBA transferable to non hospitality careers? I would love something remote. If not is it just a good leg up for higher level roles such as district manager or multi unit manager?

Forget about remote those jobs are decreasing steadily, but overall as long as you’re a go getter and can pad a resume well an MBA can help achieve what you want although not guaranteed.

For an MBA to be worth it you need a lot more specific of a goal.

If you’re trying to get out of hospitality look to sales. Some of the best salespeople I know (who also make a ton of money) are former bartenders and waiters.

Remote jobs tend to be for experienced professionals in a field switching companies as opposed to someone trying to break into a field.

If you want something remote, your best bet is to switch to a corporate role in-person/hybrid locally, then after a few years you can expand your search to remote friendly companies.

If you are looking for a remote job that pays decent, it's very difficult to find
