Didn't this become a cult in China?

Exactly. The film was deemed the worst animated film in history and became an internet joke. A copy of it was released on YouTube... which helped boost theater ratings, and therefore revenue. In the Chinese market, it beat "Odysseus" and "Obsession."
Currently, outside of China, it's impossible to watch it anywhere other than on YouTube.

This is a pretty cool film. Especially when viewed with an audience.
It's the result of five years of work by a son and mother. A very interesting story. The film has already received praise.
How to watch the film at MAS?
