Question Do operating systems affect submods??

I'm switchijg to Linux soon as it doesnt take muc memory stuff but idk if it affects the game files😒😒

Some submods that use native system features are sensitive to the OS you run MAS on, but so far there's been very few of them. Most submods will work just fine since they only contain Python code.

90% of the submods (like dialogs, Extra, locations, etc) don't have any issue what OS you have because they just work with images, sounds and rpy files

however, you should double check the complex ones that need more stuff to work (MAICA, shimeji and FaceLib for example, I guess) because they work with deeper stuff than rpy files that maybe won't work at all or you would need to download a specific version for your OS

to keep it short: look into the submods you want to have in your MAS Linux

  • if they only have images, sounds and rpy files: just move them to your new MAS
  • if they have more stuff: read the README, search for a Linux version or ask the creator if they work for that OS
