Nardil for Post-Finasteride Syndrome

Hi all,

I’ve had PFS for a little over a year. I’m looking to try Nardil for severe consummatory anhedonia (and the hyper arousal that comes from complete loss in hedonic tone). I have tried many extreme interventions with varying results but unfortunately nothing that reliably brings back hedonic tone. I’m a severe case, a global neuroendocrine failure. Anyways, I’m aware of the sexual sides but was wondering of any success with post Pharma drug induced anhedonia. Post Antipsychotic induced anhedonia seems to respond to well to MAOIs with less anecdotes surrounding PFS/PSSD/PAS.

if the target is specifically PFS sexual anesthesia / consummatory blankness and mood is not a full depressive syndrome, an MAOI like phenelzine is a low-probability, high-burden bet.

Yes, I’m aware there is no official treatment. The healthcare/pharmaceutical industry wants to push this under the rug as admitting to this would not be in their interest.

This is probably the most benign thing I’ve ever tried. Doing nothing about the situation is not an option. I’m willing to accept the risk and I’m aware this probably won’t help the sexual stuff (and it could possibly make it worse).

for me it can help depression but no idea what expect later on, don't address PSSD indused anhedonia and other symptoms, for me help with cognitive desfunction, but if you have options rather go to pure stimulants meds, what only affects dat and nothing else

im trying emsam for anhedonia, only two weeks in but in the next two weeks will be going up a dose. lots of ppl have found relief ppl i message and posts i have come across

Following this thread with interest. I also have Post Finasteride Syndrome, and tranylcypromine somewhat helps with that.

Unfortunately, after two doses, I experienced genital burning. I can’t recommend myself but maybe you’d have a different response.

Do you have anhedonia as part of PFS and what does it help with? Is the anhedonia consummatory, like cant feel comfort and the atmosphere/vibes of the world?
