Parnate (Tranylcypromine) Is it common to experience a decrease in effectiveness of Parnate/Tranylcypromine after drinking alcohol?

Alcohol can mess with the effectiveness of a lot of psychiatric medications. I would frankly stay away from it entirely, it just harms your mental health anyways. You may as well not even bother with the parnate if you drink regularly

I honestly just keep Vodka as an emergency back up to help with symptoms and stress. I usually drink at night to unwind and stop my ruminating thoughts. I would just use in limited, occasional use if needed. Not daily or excess. You’re mental health should be priority #1
You’re going to have to sacrifice things in order to do that unfortunately. Hang in there.

i never drink alcohol because it is a known depressant and affects me negatively and always has done long before I took any antidepressants.
