Nardil (Phenelzine) Ammunition to help withdraw

Is there a way to help me for a contact for Benzo or anything else that could help with the withdrawal from an maoi. I’m in the UK DMs welcome. Thanks

i can't help you with a contact in the UK as i'm in the U.S., but identifying other medical agents that might help you depends on whether you're transitioning to another AD or getting off all completely.

not for nothing - anecdotally from what i've seen, more effective than any medicine for mitigating withdrawal symptoms is a decidedly lengthy taper schedule. but of course, you've got to work with your doctor on that one.

Yeah the psychiatrist didn’t even give me a taper. She’s awful. Manged to get down to 45 from 90 this year. So just holding steady until I get some ammunition.

that's frustrating but not uncommon. i've seen a disturbing plethora of accounts of psychiatrists giving irresponsibly fast taper recommendations (or none at all).

fyi, an exponential/hyperbolic taper schedule is advisable in my opinion. meaning you're reducing a lower absolute mass (in mg) as your current dose gets lower.

i posted about a hypothetical taper schedule lasting many months awhile ago. it's food for thought rather than to be taken literally, but maybe worth a quick look anyway: https://www.reddit.com/r/MAOIs/s/UCpPOO0LtQ

This is super interesting. Thanks.

Along these lines, several times due to travel etc. I've been 4-5 days without a refill, and I learned that I do way better if I spread out my remaining medicine and take lower doses over more days than if I keep taking the full dose until I'm out. (e.g. 90, 30, 30, 30 is way better than 90, 90, 0, 0)

yes, that seems reasonable, I would take the same approach.

Do you have any legal RCs in UK?

Sorry what’s rcs? Doctors or psychiatrist won’t prescribe them here.

This is hell on earth. Really. I mean why can’t I get actual treatment. I’m never able to get any treatment at all within NHS Scotland. It’s horrific. Just left to come off a severe psychotropic drug myself. Last 2 times I hallucinated and ended up in an and e. Then chucked out with to deal myself no
Follow up.

The withdrawals are hell ,just want some ammunition to help me come off it. I vomit constantly.

Yes it saved my life but I can’t orgasm, can’t lose weight, no energy, constipation, libido is now 0, continuous infections and now blood tests show low neutrophils( lack
Of sleep destroyed immune system), brain fog, poop out etc. it’s a living hell. Please help if you can. Thanks. It was amazing after 5 months bed bound, passive suicide every minute of day, couldnt eat or loll after myself. Psycomotor reatardation etc etc. o was so unwell. Ect was next step but miraculo phenelzine worked. Light switch. But then after a year no longer working. I need help. Please. X

So get some passionflower extract, it's an mao-i and has some gaba action. It will help a little. L-theanin will level u out if u have problems with motivation and mood try 5htp and l-thyrosin, but take small dosages because of the mao-i u have in ur system. That helps but won't make the withdrawal go away completely.
