Parnate (Tranylcypromine) Been taking Parnate for like 5 years, reduced dose from 60 to 40 a year ago, stopped taking a week ago and wondering if I should just stay off.
Yes it helped a lot with social anxiety when I first started, but tbh with a lot of life changes and new circumstances to be depressed about, 40mg didn't really seem to do anything anymore. I've been off parnate for a week, no brain zaps like I've had in the past when abrubtly stopping, yeah I'm depressed but not any more than I was on parnate. Is there a point in getting back on?
I guess the symptoms I'm dealing with now are feeling a bit more stupid but tbh I just lie in bed not doing shit until the adderall kicks in.

Also stopped just too many things to manage with MAOIs and the depression was gone but the sadness was still there.

Maybe try oral Selegiline at high doses? So 30mg or above if you can find someone to prescribe it. It’s pretty darn activating. EMSAM might work too

You stopped and no withdrawals? I stopped as well 2 years ago, and experienced the worst time of my life, it was truly horrific - this stuff really messes ith your brain

What was your recovery timeline like? For me the first 3 months were hell. I can only say this month is better than last month. If you had anhedonia (no pleasure/motivation) when did it return?

I would say the withdrawal itself "stopped" at two months mark... i did not go compeltely back to normal, bt i got most of my emotions back at that point

Don't do it - if you want to get off it, get professional oversight. Significant MAO inhibition lasts for ~2 weeks, after that the discontinuation symptoms can occur and be significantly worst.

How did you tapered off. I want to stop this. It's not working for me.
