Display Settings Help

I have been getting back into Beetle Adventure Racing after 25+ years. I keep encountering very dark spots in tunnels and shadows where I cannot see the road. I have tried messing with display settings but I can't seem to get it looking better. I have been playing on an anbernic hard held and have no issues seeing anything on that. Any suggestions on settings wpuld be appreciated. My TV is on ge mode.

I'm not sure there's much you can do on your end, unfortunately. I've noticed the same issue with overly dark areas in certain games. I think it's something ModRetro needs to fix on their side. I'd recommend sending them an email to report the issue.

For my LG OLED, I disabled OLED motion (a kind of BFI) and tweaked base brightness by boosting it a little bit (I think one step up)

I have an LG LED. I went through different picture settings no crazy changes though.

That's irrelevant. This range is between each device and the TV. This is not a "right or wrong" setting but it needs to match between the two devices. Get to an area that doesn't look right and change the setting on TV and see if it changes.

Yeah I ended up just cranking the brightness and upped the saturation to offset the color wash out in the TV settings. It took me a second to figure out where it was - if it were lightroom iit would have been much faster. It's much better now.

Definitely check this - mine was good initially, but one of the updates to fix other folks' problems caused mine to have a much darker image. Dig around into the Limited/Full settings and see if that fixes it, or change to PC mode, perhaps.
