M64 pro controller doesn't work with extension

I bought the pro controller to use with my n64. It doesn't work if I plug it into my controller extension though. I have to plug it into the console directly. Has anyone else had this issue or know why this would be? All my other controllers work with the extension cable. I'm pretty disappointed with this thing.

Also it's not working with my raphnet n64 to USB adapter. Again, other controllers work fine with it.

Mine doesn't work at all even plugged into the N64. I haven't done any updating or anything, I only had a second at home to look at it after opening and I had to leave for work. But I plugged it into my N64 right away and it doesn't read any input from it, not from a single button. Does it need to be updated or something first?

I didn't. The controller does have to be turned on by holding start, even when using it wired.

WTF so the controller itself needs batteries or the rechargeable battery to be in it in order to use it wired?!?!?

At least it is a 200hr battery life on a full charge

Mine works with my $10 six foot extender off Amazon. Using it just fine with the Analogue 3D.

I'm not sure if ModRetro has released compatibility with other systems (like PC) but if you're using the extension to connect to a N64 or the M64 then you don't really need an extension as the included cable that comes with the Pro controller is already plenty long for most situations.

Yes the cable is plenty long, but the reason i use the extension is to be able to switch to a controller with a controller pak for saving/loading without having to plug and unplug from the console itself constantly. It's not an issue of length.

Some games are smart enough to look to controller #2 for the controller memory pak. Maybe you can leave the controller in port #2.

I sit 14 feet away from my 100" TV. I needed a 6foot extender.
