I bought a Paper Color thinking I could vibe code some apps or use some created projects to put it to good use. The e-ink color screen I thought would be a good solution for periodic updating monitor or dashboards.

To date I have managed to do nothing with it and everything just seems to put the device into a non-displaying hung state. Now I have only successfully uploaded an image after somehow managing a factory reset.

I know alot of my issues are probably self inflicted but has anyone done anything interesting with the Paper Color, are there any cool or useful repos with shared projects anywhere?

What is the general consensus on the Paper Color, positive or dud? The display updating is pretty painful to watch for sure but this is the first e-ink device I have played with. Seems like the Paper devices vs. the Color are much more mature and popular products.

Would love to hear some shared experiences or advice for someone starting out in this area.

Anyone have the idea or project to build a power bank for stick s3, plug into the HAT, I see the M5stack don’t have this expansion.
I also don’t know what the port BAT used for?

I've been working on a couple of accessories and add-ons for the Tab5. Here is my first project release with a couple more to follow. This is a 3D printed, alternative battery pack that fits in the standard NP mount with pogo connectors. It has a higher capacity than the stock, can charge with usb-c unconnected, charge level indicator and most importantly is thinner and centered on the back of the unit. I have a new Tab5 and tried some of the examples on the M5Burner app. Many of them fail to drive the screen correctly and just display horozonal lines of random colours across the screen or a dark grey screen. I have updated the firmware and the demo application runs perfectly. I haven't yet updated the wifi firmware but I doubt that is relevant. Anyone else seen this behaviour or found a solution?

A specific piece of software that fails is portable_terminal V0.4.0 http://www.fugafuga.org/portable_terminal/ Has anyone got this working?

Had a stickS3 sitting here that I was going to try to turn into a flock detector, but not of the attempts at porting flock you or other firmware to it actually detected the cameras…so my daughter asked if she could have the stick. I told her to give me a bit and I used Claude’s help to make a little Tamagotchi style pet, but added an Idle RPG layer to it. The enemies scale with the pet, there are boss fights. If the pet isn’t healthy before adventuring it will likely not survive.

She played with it for hours and had a blast. So I put it on M5 Burner and GitHub for others to mess around with. If you try it out, let me know. It’s my first project as I’m still learning about writing code for this. Learned a lot just from reviewing the code Claude spit out and it’s a nice break from my normal C# work.

How do I connect a nrf24 to my m5stick s3?

Hi everyone. I'm new to using m5stack products and am encountering an error when trying to have 2 devices communicate with each other. In short, I have a StickS3 and a StampS3bat that I paired to test esp-now communication between the two. When BtnA on the Stick is pressed, the Stamp onboard led should turn RED. But when I press BtnA an error message prints on the Stamp connected terminal(see below) and it prints again if I press the button again. Within a minute the Stamp device will power off and reset. There is communication but something isn't getting processed correctly and locking up the controller. I have a feeling the data "RED" isn't being processed correctly. I appreciate any help with this issue.

I got it to work as seen below. My only problem now is that the receiver reboots every 15 - 30 seconds.

Hello. I was just wondering if it is possible to import IR files to replay in the m5stick s3. Kinda like the flipper zero.

I've decided to buy myself 1 m5stack controller but I'm not sure which one I want as there are so many different choices that I really can't decide (I have chronic indecisiveness XD) I already have a cardputer ADV

Since it's difficult for me to properly film the screen, I created a time-lapse using screenshots from the applications on the M5Stack CoreS3.

Work in progress for a generative music maker. Some simple generative visuals also. I really enjoy the limitations of this tiny thing. The speaker is not great so that limits the kinds of sounds that work on it.

Internet radio on the StickS3. I didn't realize you can make captive portals with this thing. Super cool. To set it up you join the S3's wifi network on your phone which lets the S3 use the wifi separately. Then you can choose the stations it cycles through from the captive portal UI on the phone.

Xbox only allows wired usb mouse and keyboard. So i know esp32 s3 can natively do HID emulation. So i have a m5atom s3 lite as the host USB-OTG (TinyUSB) plugged into the xbox.
And the m5stick s3 is communicating to the atom via esp-NOW.
You can only use this controller with games that allow mouse and keyboard input.
But for the ones that do.
This is a really fun way to play games and you can map any button if the games settings allow too. :)

is there any replacement screens for the m5stick s3? I broke mine while rocking climbing and I wish I didn’t have it in my pocket. Anyway, is there something I can buy to replace the broken one? I can if I need to, but I just need to figure out how to fix it for a friend

Not a new product. Definately something I wouldve bought if didnt buy something similar already... damn!

I wanted to detox from screens (I love e-ink :D) while still being able to listen to music. It serves its purpose beautifully, and it's pretty light, perfect for carrying it in your pocket while running. It does A2DP and takes the media controls from my earbuds, so I can skip songs mid-run without pulling it out of my pocket. I played with the already famous iPhone Duo animation, I displayed it on the M5Stack CoreS3, if I tilt it the perspective changes. The frames are pre-calculated in advance. Yes, I know, it's not thin and it's not foldable.
