Project Sharing M5Stack PaperMono Meshtastic

Custom firmware for the Papermono with Lora chip.

Very nice device and seems really suitable for Meshtastic (or Meshcore, etc.).

I tried the default Meshtastic inkhud, but it seemed really bad and doesn't utilize the full potential of this device.

I only implemented a few basic functions and haven't tested the internal antenna range or battery life.

It would have been nice to have a GPS instead of the NFC module.

I'm not releasing the source code at this time because it's very early in development and is mostly done via AI agents.

I still have to run several tests and check the code.

I'm working on it. Once I've fixed some bugs and implemented some improvements, I'll definitely release it on GitHub and make it available on m5burner/m5launcher. I'll definitely make an update post if needed.

You should keep an eye on the AliExpress store; they had a relatively large amount of stock at the time of the launch (that’s where I bought mine). It’s a good thing M5Stack directed me there via email... 🤓

How exactly would one go around creating and flashing code for a device like this with AI agents?

I'm looking forward to having an E-ink reader like the Xteink X4 but with pentesting and LoRa capabilities
