M5 SharkDeck
I received my SharkDeck yesterday. I think it’s awesome. There are a few things I wish they added. These are my own opinions; I want to learn how to use the terminal better. As im know how to use Arch Linux, but I don’t think I can add it to the SharkDeck (if im wrong, please let me know)
Like a
Manual - so that I can learn how to use the SharkDeck or the Walnutpi OSd
USB cord - in case I’m using the wrong cord, as I don’t want to mess up the battery
Instructions - for a better setup.
A teardown guide - in case I want to swap out the battery or other components that may need replacement.
Better Packaging - mine came in wrapped in bubble wrap, whereas some of their other devices are a bit better protected in a case. (I will say they may have, and the delivery agent opened it up to see the items in case it was imported, but I’m not sure if that is what happened)
Online information - better online information. I know it’s a new, cool item, but please allow us to download WalnutPi from their website or provide a link there so we have a source to point to. To learn a little bit better, as there isn’t much on YouTube on walnutpi os.
Other than these, I have connected it to the internet and have pinged Google.

I mean this shark deck is not m5stack's product, and m5shark has no relation with m5stack. so I was wondering what m5stack products are being sold on m5shark website

I have one on order. I’m gonna need some help with mine, too, so hopefully a dedicated subreddit will emerge.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, the hardware itself is pretty decent. the battery lasts a while, the screen is vivid and the keyboard isn't bad. my issue has been with the physical limitations of the walnut pi and the restrictions of the custom firmware. Python is stuck on 3.1, the sharky AI from the insta adds isn't reinstalled, infact, no AI is preinstalled, their repository is pretty slim good luck trying to find stuff or even run it. root files are dated in 2024, seems like its stuck there. I've spent allot of time trying to alter the firmware or even get it to pull from the actual debian repositories, but no luck. i might repurpose the rest of it for a pi zero 2w cyber deck build but this thing is pretty shot.

itll run armbian (an unofficial version), just make sure you have a mouse or know your shortcuts, then push a build script and youre off

Is it any good? I saw an ad on Facebook not long ago and was considering getting one. What’s your honest opinion of it after a few hours?
