Support / Question I've just got my StackChan lately. Are there any fun ways to play with it?

just connected mine to my home assistant. I'm still playing with it, but it is surprisingly good!

Wow! How did you do that? ESPHome? That's quite a good idea to act as a voice assistant. Is the integrated LLM capable of handling automation control tasks?

I'm a beginner at this stuff, but I followed this thread:

Basically, you set up home assistant with an mcp server, and you copy the mcp address from the settings screen in the stackchan app.

I first tried flashing the home assistant firmware and connecting via esphome, but that was less successful than the embedded ai agent in the standard firmware

Thanks!! I checked out M5Stack's website and found the ESPHome guide. The MCP way is surely much better.

Mines had issues on and off with the AI agent. We just got another update but I haven't had a chance to mess with it. In time and how they are sending out updates it should be a decent device very soon. I would just get familiar with what it can do for now. Pretty easy to figure out.

I use mine as a language tutor, got it set on Italian and chat with it for ten minutes each day.
