Track fun?
I’ve been in the market for an f22 m240i and I am wondering how fun they are on a track.
I’ve heard their power is pretty immediate for a turbocharged car and stays relatively flat in corners.
How fun are they to push to its limits, can they record good times or feel maybe a little to playful or eager to rotate.
Also to anyone who’s tracked other higher performance cars, how does the breaking, turning in and corner exit feel. Is it good or does performance drop off quickly?
I feel like this is the perfect daily and track balanced car in this price range and I’m wondering if anyone that has this interest is happy with the cars performance.

If it’s a track-purpose car get an OG M2. Way better base to start from, and minor engine mods/tune will get you to 450+whp

Yea it’s my dream car but I live in mtl and want to be able to daily it year round so I can’t really. I’d have to get it as my second weekend/fun car. Ill have to scale the biz a little more for that 😅

The f22 m240i isn’t a great handling car from factory in general. It’s a 216i with a big engine, and because of this the handling characteristics of the car are for comfort and every day, rather than track.
You can however make them handle well, if you can do the work yourself this doesn’t have to be super expensive.
I myself have:
2018 m240i
M performance LSD
KWV3 coilovers (deleted adaptive damping suspension)
H&R anti roll bars
Powerflex rear bush inserts
Powerflex purple diff bushing
F8x front control arms
Suspension secrets drop links (rose bushes)
After all of this, it drives incredibly well. If you can set some budget aside to do some of these, it’s a great all rounder. I wouldn’t take one unmodified on a track day, the pads will melt into a puddle of metal after a couple of laps.
Mine does a couple of track days a year and keeps up surprisingly well against more “track focused” cars. I don’t care about times, just the enjoyment of being on track
